Hints and tips

Storage problems? Click Here for some ideas.

Inserts: when sticking inserts in it is easier to use a strip of double sided tape along the fold on the front edge. This way the insert opens up correctly with the card.

Insert

Mulberry papers: To shape mulberry paper to the size you require use a wet paintbrush. Draw the shape you require and then carefully pull apart.

Embellishments: Odd shape, size or textured embellishments can be hard to stick on to your card. Try using some sticky foam pads (available from most stationary shops or places like pound land)

Peel-off’s: Use a craft knife to hold the peel-off, this stops it coming out of shape before you can position it.

Glues: You need a good selection of glues. A glue stick for papers. PVA for heavier papers/card, ribbons and material. A strong clear glue for embellishments and sequins.

Stamping: Varnish any bare wood on your stamp as this will make it easier to clean and prevent it from being stained by the ink. Baby wipes make a good job at cleaning stamps.

Time saving: Prepare some pre embossed images on scraps of card to use for quick cards. Also, cut and fold paper ready for inserts.
