Card Design Projects
Candles - Dad - Birthday

Skill level: Advanced
Approx. time: 30 mins

You will need:
White Square card
White card scrap
Blue textured card

Embossing equipment
Blue and Silver embossing powder
Blue ink pad
'Happy Birthday' repeat stamp
'Candles' stamp
Craft knife and cutting mat
Scissors - Straight edged
Strong glue
Foam Pads

Step 1: Stamp and emboss the 'Happy Birthday' repeating stamp onto the left side of the card with Silver embossing powder. Leave to dry.

Step 2: Stamp and emboss the 'Candles' onto white card with silver embossing powder for the flames and blue for the candles. Once dry, cut out one set of candles individually and cut around the block of the other set.

Step 3: Draw or stencil the 'DAD' from the Blue textured card and cut out. Using the blue ink pad smudge the edges of the letters. Leave to dry completely before placing onto the card and drawing around the top half onto the card with a pencil. Cut out the shape of the top of the 'DAD' from the card.

Step 4: Stick the 'DAD' onto the card with strong glue.

Step 5: Stick the individual candles along the bottom of the 'DAD'. You do not need to use them all if you don't want to.

Step 6: Using the foam pads stick the block of candles in front of the individual candles.

Step 7: Add an insert. Remember that the top of the card has been cut out so you will need a shorter insert.

Tip: If you do not have the 'Happy Birthday' repeating stamp you could print it from a computer. This can also be adapted for Mum or short names.
